Projects

Soprano Ashley Prince is originally from Buena Vista, Virginia, and now lives in the Washington DC area. She has always been passionate about solo and choral repertoire. She obtained the Bachelor of Arts in Music from Southern Virginia University in May of 2022, and has received her Masters of Music in Vocal Performance and Vocal Pedagogy from East Carolina University in May of 2024.

While at Southern Virginia University, she sang in the regionally acclaimed university ensemble Chamber Singers for all four years as an alto. As a soloist, she was heard in performances of Vivaldi’s “Gloria” and the Kyrie from Haydn’s “Lord Nelson Mass”. She also performed in the opera workshop at SVU, including Hansel in Hansel and Gretel, Dorabella in Così fan tutte, Mallika in Lakmé, and the horse in The Goose Girl. While at East Carolina University, she was a member of the award-winning East Carolina University Chamber Singers. She also performed with Wilmington Voices for their Spring 2023 concert series.

While in the DC area, she has been teaching voice and piano. Her students have continued to grow and learn. Miss Prince has also had the opportunity to be an adjunct professor at Southern Virginia University where she has been teaching group voice. With that, she has also conducted a masterclass with Paradigm High School from Utah.

Ashley also has been freelance performing at different churches in the DMV area, and she currently works at the Old Presbyterian Meeting House in Alexandria, VA. In the summer of 2024, she attended the Spire Chamber Ensemble Choral Conducting Institute where she was able to work alongside with Ben Spaulding and Esteli Gomez. In the summer of 2025, she attended the Amherst Early Music Festival where she was able to learn and perform early music, and work alongside Geoffrey Williams.
